Step One: Start with Your Vision
Every family has a story, and your portraits should fit seamlessly into yours. At Nihart Photography, we believe in creating with purpose. Before the camera comes out, we’ll discuss how these portraits will live in your world. Is there a special place in your home—a cozy wall in the family room or that perfect spot above the fireplace? And let’s be honest—wall space is valuable! It’s prime real estate, and you want what’s displayed to be both enjoyable and impressive. If the space is not available yet, a luxurious album would be the beautiful way to tell your family’s story. Let’s talk about your needs and what portrait style you are drawn too. When we are a good fit we will secure a date for the session and another for the sales appointment.

Your Design Consultation is the foundation of the portrait process at Nihart Photography. During this meeting, we take the time to learn about your family, and talk to your family members to understand the personalities and the dynamics that make your relationships unique. Whether one child is the organized planner or another is the free spirit, understanding these details helps us create portraits that truly reflect who you are.
We will also address practical details to ensure you feel confident and prepared. Topics covered include selecting clothing that photographs beautifully, understanding the costs involved, identifying the most suitable areas of your home for displaying your portraits, and discussing whether to include your family pet (which is always encouraged).
This consultation ensures that every aspect of your session is tailored to your family’s needs, laying the groundwork for portraits that will be both meaningful and timeless.
Step Three: Enjoy
With the groundwork in place, we move on to the enjoyable part – your portrait session. Here, we come together to bring your vision to life. We focus on the purpose and vision for your portraits, crafting a session that is both fun and memorable.

We come together on the date set in step one. This is the moment you choose the portraits to be printed. These portraits will serve as daily reminders of the love and connection you share as a family.
